To install Google Chrome (and it's updates) on Ubuntu, do -

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chromium-daily
$ sudo apt-get update
}}}

Then do one of

$ sudo apt-get install google-chromium-stable
$ sudo apt-get install google-chromium-beta
$ sudo apt-get install google-chromium-unstable

according to your tolerance.
