How to restore the mouse after upgrading to Ubuntu 8.04#

Fist, boot into recovery kernel.

Then, edit xorg.conf

$ vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf 

The, remove the CorePointer line from the mouse section.

Finally, reboot and enjoy.
